Summer Camp Prep

So I'm not as good at updating this lately!! Currently we are working on summer camp preparations and planning--looking for volunteers and money! Praise God we have already raised almost the full amount for 2 camps!! Be praying for the hearts of the youth we will be working with. It's 85 degrees today-- summer is coming!!!

Life Skills Training Success...

This week we have held a training for 45 people from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and Romaina--all wonderful volunteers who are working or want to work with older orphans. We provided them with 3 days of training in our material and now they have the curriculumn to teach graduating orphans valuable Life Skills. Praise God for his people planting seeds in the fields of the fatherless!

Nicolaev/Kherson trip

Just returned from a trip to Nikolaev to talk about a possible summer camp- and also from Kherson, where we visited all the kids we brought to the US and also where we did a camp last summer. It was a wonderful reunion-- and heart breaking all over again. I'll try to post some pictures soon.

Back to winter in Kiev- which actually hasn't been to cold so far (thankfully!) I'm settling into my new roles at work and also getting ready to start working on the spring play at KCA. I hope to get to Kherson, Ukraine soon to visit the kids we brought to the USA over the holidays.

I leave to head back to Kiev on Tuesday. It has been one busy and full last two months between being with the groups of kids that traveled over and getting time with family and friends. I'm excited to get back to work and see what doors God opens in 2008! Thank you for continued prayers.

I'm currently in the Seattle area till January 15th. Our group of orphans will be performing "The Old Russian Shoemaker" on Dec 28th at Northshore Baptist Church (7pm). Don't miss this wonderful show and opportunity to bless Ukrainian orphans!

Lots of Tears today...

All our sweet kids left Virginia today to head to Colorado for more fun and our adults headed to California to start the west coast tour of "The Russian Shoemaker"-- they'll be joined by 16 orphans. There were lots of wet eyes today as everyone departed ways-- the kids really loved their host families. Now I'm going up to D.C with my dear friend Beverly and my cousin Gabrielle before I head to Seattle on Sunday.

Well are 17 Ukrainian orphans are doing great and loving America! We've had one performance so far and have another one tonight (we are in Williamsburg, Virginia). It is such a blessing to be here with these wonderful kids!

Well...leaving in the morning to take the first group of orphans to the states for performance and the holidays! 30 people on a plane tomorrow- so please be praying for us! Will send out more news later.

Kids from the Kherson orphanage arrived today for rehearsals for the Shoemaker play which will be performed in the US. For those in Seattle area there will be a performance at my home church Northshore Baptist on December 28th! We have one more embassy appt to go so that all will receieve visas. So pray for that this Thursday.

We have US embassy interviews scheduled for Monday for more of the children we will be taking to the US over the holidays. Please pray for favorable results and all receive visas!

Life Skills in Zhitomer!

This week we are doing a training on the Life Skills Curriculum in Zhitomer for government orphanage workers-- this is the first time our training is being used at a government level- so it is a big praise to God and a huge step for us and this project!

Well today I turned 26...oops the secret is out! Anyway- Ukrainians know how to celebrate!! I received more flowers, chocolates and "congratulations" then I know what to do with! Neverthelss I feel loved...and full! :)

Summit

Last week was our 2 day all staff summit which was awesome! Just a time for all our staff to go away and do team building and sharing what God is doing in our organization-- the coolest part was realizing I arrived 3 years ago during the summit and felt so out of place and overwhelmed by it all-- What a change I saw this year! God has blessed me so much through my time here.

CBN Partners and Berdyansk Trip

Currently we have about 30 CBN partners visiting us in Kiev and we will be traveling down to Berdyansk tomorrow to visit the orphanage there and the Training Center. It's always fun meeting new people!
